Today is Make a Difference Day

I was asked recently "Why do you write your stories?"
There are many purposes for writing: to tell a story to convey an idea or opinion or to converse.

There is no need or benefit from statements directly intended to atta...

Why are hugs magic?
Because with one simple gesture and without words you have told the person receiving the hug many things. The hug says - hello, how are you, I'm not going to hurt you. The hug says - I'm so glad you're happy, a celebration is needed. The hug says - I care about what just happened - neither you nor I, are alone, together we cannot be broken.
Why are hugs magic? Because - the action of compassionately by impulse or intent embracing a person or ani...

There is an answer in every experienced tragedy; we need only be willing to find the question. First we must put aside: anger, self-pity, doubt, public opinion, and the loss of what could have been. Once the question is found, its answer will bring strength and the ability to move forward. Faith brings hope, hope brings possibility, and possibility brings achievement. All achievements are little miracles because of the hurdles overcome to get there.

In How Nicholas Became Santa Claus, Nicholas the infant had to deal with the trials of life. To make choices, to give in or fight without being broken in spirit. To be successful eventhough the people upon whom you have depended all through life thus far are no longer present. Finding a way to triumph over seemingly overwhelming odds with a smile on your face and a laugh in your belly is truly a gift. Everyone is given this gift on a daily basis. Recognizing our triumphs as gifts, is part of ...
